I am getting more and more excited as the days count down to this year’s Big Bad Ball (BBB). For those of you who don’t know, The Big Bad Ball is a black tie event at the Capital City Club to benefit the Hospice of Wake County. It is so much fun and seriously one of those ”must-attend” events that happens only once or twice a year. I went to BBB last year during my very first week of work at Hummingbird and let’s just say it was a memorable night for many, many reasons.
The BBB committee met last Thursday and I am glad to announce that we finally got e-commerce up and running! Now, everyone can purchase their ball tickets and raffle tickets online. That was a big relief! I am so thrilled with the outcome of all of the marketing materials, too! I have to say a special thanks to:
Mike for being patient (and never complaining) and making changes to the BBB Web site nearly every day!
Steve for creating absolutely beautiful ads, invitations, tickets and well…. everything!
Wendy for supporting and guiding me through my first year on the committee.
Sonny for making e-commerce possible.
April & Diane for making sure I have everything I need to do my job and being the best Co-Chairs ever!
And, of course, all of the sponsors and committee members who make it all possible.
On another note, I have seen quite a few wonderful projects come through my “hot box” here at Hummingbird. The Southeastern Emergency Equipment catalog is coming right along and is looking great. Juli, Steve and I came up with some awesome taglines and brochure ideas for Building Blocks - I think the staff at Building Blocks will love them! Sandy, Juli and I created a few radio commercials for Sustainable North Carolina last week and I can’t wait to hear the spec spots. Mike began to teach me Joomla and Steve showed me how to do clipping paths in Photoshop - and I can’t wait to learn more! Cathy and I went over my goals I set for my one year review and it looks like I am right on track. I’ll let you all know how my review goes in September.
Other than that, Wendy is about to have the baby and we are all very excited! It will be fun having a little baby Hummingbird fluttering around the office!
