Looking for an Intern

15Aug08

Now that the summer is winding down and college dorms are filling up again, I’m thinking it’s time to start looking for interns.  We could definitely use the help and it would be a great opportunity for someone to get real world experience working in a fun office and earning college credit.

I’d like to bring in someone that is highly organized with an unending cheerful and can-do attitude.  This individual would provide assistance to Jill, our Traffic Coordinator, with opening/closing projects, filing, writing/editing press releases, and obtaining quotes from vendors, following up on print jobs, running errands and general day-to-day tasks.

Strong skills in MS Word and Excel would be necessary and it would be helpful if he/she had experience with Adobe Acrobat and PowerPoint.  I’d also look for an overall GPA of at least 3.0 and would prefer third or fourth-year students majoring in communications, public relations, journalism, business or marketing.  Probably about 10-15 hrs/week would do the trick for us and we can be flexible working around a class schedule.  While this is an unpaid internship, the intern would earn experience and have something valuable to put on a resume.

If you know anyone that might be a good fit, please let them know we are looking and have them send a cover letter and resume to me at hr@hummingbird-creative.com.

Thanks!

It’s a FABULOUS place to intern and gain more experience than one person would even need to really get a jump on the biz :-)
You know, not that I’m biased or anything!
